~Fairy Clay Figurine~

Figure's Size:
Width 11inches (finger to finger)
Height 25 3/4inches (top of wing to toe)
Depth 9inches (approximately)

Base's Size:
Width 11 1/2inches
Height 1 1/4inches
Depth 8 3/4inches

Overall Size:
Height 27inches (top of wing to bottom)
WIngs are fixed.

About the Figurine:
Her construction begins over a sturdy armature which continues down hidden inside on leg to her foot.
Sliding the fairys foot down over a the hidden rod fixed to her base
allows the fairy to stand "freely"ontop of her wooden base.
Her head, chest, forearms and hands are an original sculpt made from polymer clay.
The remainder of the fairys figure is soft bodied over the wire armature.
Her skin tone is the natural color fo the clay itself.
Pretty features have been lightly painted by me and her skin lightly blushed.
Her big eyes are a clear hazel and lips are a light rose color.
Fingernails have all painted in a soft petal pink.
Her ears can be seen through honey colored silky locks of curly angora mohair.

About the Wings:
Amethyst, violet, and pink hued gorgeous wings, frame the graceful fairys figure.
The have been hand made by me.
Sheer fabric over a wire form which is dyed, accent painted,
distressed edges, veined in copper and lightly dusted with opalescent glitter.
A generous amount of soft white down feathers at her center back.
Wings are not removable.

About the Costume:
A breathtaking display of summer's pallet and blooms, come together in her ornate costuming.

About the Chemise:
Her hand sewn chemise (underdress) is mint green.
It is gathered across her neckline and her long puffy sleeves are "laced" down to her wrists.
A sheer sparkling green and gold skirt adds an extra
bit of enchantment to her attire when it catches the light and its colors seem to burst!

About the Apron:
Long shreds of sage green gauze which
fades into hand dyed colors of pink and deep purple
and pale pink ribbon glitter around the fairys skirt.

About the Bodice:
Her bodice and should straps are an ivory tapestry, featuring wonderful garden blooms and leaves.
Colors range from deep rose and purple to sage green.
Soft sparkling eyelash thread detail the bottom and top edges of the bodice.
At the top of the shoulder straps are two sheer pale pink ribbon.
Her chemise and skirt have been distressed at the edges the entire way around the costume.

About the Extras:
Under her dress, she is wearing brown leggings.
She has hand made felt slippers evergreen in color with mint green trim,
two tiny silk leaves and a pretty sky blue flower buds.
A brambling "vine" twist and curls through rasberries and flowers in baby blue, purple and pink.
scattered lime green and mauve berries and silk green leaves-make a whimsical garden crown for head.
Although dressed in a traditional maidens gown, this fairy is not without her jewlery.
She is far richer than her initial appearance as most things are!
Around her neck is a beautiful necklace of super fine antique gold glass beads
which features a silver pendant with a peridot stone!

About the Base:
The base is wooden with four wooden feet to pife it from a table top surface nicely.
The top has been covered in grass green felt and trimmed in silky eyelash thread "grass".
The Fairy is removable from the base.

Authentication:
Each original design Art Doll I create comes with a photo certificate of authenticity.
Each piece is also numbered hand signed by me.
And while each One of a kind doll has its own personality, they are often part of a series of fairy folk.
It is in this way that additional dolls may beaded to your fairy collection and retain
a consistant quality and wonderful peek into a wonderfully enchanted world!

My fairies and mermaids have been sold to collectors around the world.

For my portrait doll based on the John William Waterhouse Painting "Ophelia",
in the popular Dolls Magazine published by Jones Publishing,Inc.
Over 600 One of a Kind pieces have found new homes from 2002-present!
These pieces all begin as clay over a strong wire armature.
Most of the figures are 3-6 inches in height.
A careful attention to the figures gesture, expression, choice of costuming and
of course generous amounts oflovely embellishments, ensure each is a whimsical
addition to fantasy collection!
These fairies are all One of a Kinds, I do not use a doll mold of any kind.
These pieces are fragile and intended as an indoor display only.
They can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
It is best to keep in a curio cabinet or protective doll display.
